Goldstrike Canyon

Confluence of Goldstrike and Black Canyons, Nevada.

Goldstrike Canyon -- another classic Las Vegas hike. Enjoy the pics.

Goldstrike trailhead is just off of US-95 and a mere 25-minute drive from the strip (if traffic cooperates).

The soft sand and gentle decline of the upper canyon are ideal for running.

One of several hot pools for soaking.

Spring wildflowers adorn a bouldery obstacle in Goldstrike Canyon.

.

High water on the Colorado. We were too late on this trip, but if you can get to the river before they let large volumes of water out of Hoover Dam, you can head upstream on sandbars to reach the sauna cave.

Well, there is an alternative route up and over the cliffs to sauna cave. Yeah, no thanks.

Taking a very chilly dip in the Colorado.
