Been a long time ago, don't remember any names.
The place is gone, have no idea what happened to anything from the place. It was located 5 miles south of Myton. The Indians eventually took it over and destroyed everything. nothing remains but memories. There was an artisan well on the property, it may still be there.
He also had a house in Myton. My cousin Retta owns it, but can't do anything with it, because my grandmothers family also claim it.
Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09291842082641546370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4866903923681224940.post-67328811059904089402011-08-21T08:43:40.819-06:002011-08-21T08:43:40.819-06:00To Gordon Willson...

My Husband's Dad (Virgil Barney)and his Uncle ran pack trains up Nine Mile Canyon, crossed on the ferry and went on to Maybelle, CO. We are trying to find any info on this. The years as close as we can figure would by 1918-1924.
Thanks for an info you can provide...Jennie BarneyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4866903923681224940.post-14292323400663357772011-02-20T12:47:56.279-07:002011-02-20T12:47:56.279-07:00The cabin you show at Sand wash is where Ray and T...The cabin you show at Sand wash is where Ray and Tessie Thompson raised there 3 children. Don "Hoot" Smith (his kids live in Myton and in Vernal), Jean Hadden (her kids live in Myton) and Betty Willson who was my mother. All through the 50's and 60's we spend a lot of time there. In fact my grandfather Ray Thompson homesteaded a few miles up stream just before WW1. The BLM took it from him because he went to war and was not there to farm it continuously. But did lease the land at the upper cabin as well as Sand wash back to him on a lifetime lease... Ray operated the ferry across the river for a time before it was abandoned. I personally never saw the ferry operate, however I have seen records of passengers and livestock crossing the river. The dates elude me. Ray died in 1971. I’ll search through my old pictures and send any I can find to you if you would like them.

Gordon Willson 9954064@gmail.comUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09291842082641546370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4866903923681224940.post-41130130758623171372009-01-29T16:43:00.000-07:002009-01-29T16:43:00.000-07:00Thanks for your post.
