I climbed Timp a few weeks back. Great, great hike. Lots of company.

I started with a 9-mile/3200 foot warm-up bike ride from American Fork up to the Timpooneke trailhead. It took me 2.5 hours to run/hike the 7.5 mile and 3300 vertical feet to the summit. It took 4 hours round-trip including taking time to take a lot of photos. The campground host that watched my bike was pretty impressed with my time. Two female marathoners blew past me like I was standing still.

I ran pretty much all of the downhill and felt great. I took this as a good sign that I'd be ready for a single-day double crossing of the Grand Canyon a few weeks later -- I was wrong.
